Senior Scientist

commencing as soon as possible.

Job description:
You will work in a team of researchers in an industry-oriented modern laboratory environment Our group has long-term experience in the growth of large-diameter Si crystals with ultra-high purity using the Float-Zone method and in the growth of Ge, Si and SiGe single crystals with Czochralski-technique including the growth of high purity Ge. Your duties include project acquisition, managing projects and leading its team members, planning, realization and evaluation of experiments as well as publication of the results in international journals and on conferences.

Qualification:
The successful candidate should be an outstanding scientist/technologist and has a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or Materials Science. She/He should have an internationally recognized expertise in the field of bulk crystal growth, experience in the field of Ge or Si crystal growth, preferable Cz method. Hands-on mentality and goal-oriented, collaborative work style are necessary. Previous experience in leading research groups is welcome, managing research projects, a good publication record as well as good English knowledge are required.

The position is available as soon as possible and its duration is limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension. Payment is according to TVöD (collective labour agreement for German public service). IKZ is an equal opportunity employer.
