The Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) is a leading research institution in the area of science & technology as well as service & transfer of crystalline materials. Our goal is to enable solutions for urgent societal challenges (e.g. communication, artificial intelligence, climate protection, health etc.) by modern electronic & photonic technologies. The work covers the full spectrum from basic over applied research up to pre-industrial development and is performed in collaboration with national and international partners from university, academy and industry. The institute is part of the Forschungsverbund Berlin (www.fv-berlin.de) and a member of the Leibniz Association (www.leibniz-gemeinschaft.de). You can find more details on the institute webpage: www.ikz-berlin.de.

 IKZ invites application for the

IKZ International Fellowship Award 2024 on
Oxide/Fluoride Dielectric and Laser Crystals

IKZ is looking for an internationally recognized senior scientist in research and development areas of single crystals for dielectric, ferroelectric, lasers, and optics applications. The successful candidate must be an outstanding researcher either in the area of bulk crystal growth of oxides or fluorides and/or in the area of applying such crystals as active dielectric, ferroelectric, optical, and/or laser elements. The selection will be based on the candidate’s research outline for a collaboration with IKZ (see below), distinguished scientific contributions in the field, including high-quality scientific publications and third-party funding, and research team supervision. The fellowship award amounts to 10.000 € and will be handed over to the successful candidate in a ceremony with a certificate. The IKZ fellow is expected to stay as a guest scientist at IKZ up to 3 months in 2024 in a flexible manner and use the stay to establish, together with IKZ scientists, a new third-party funded research direction in the above area between IKZ and its home institution.

For further information and to discuss ideas for the collaboration proposal, please feel free to contact Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Bickermann: matthias.bickermann@ikz-berlin.de.

Among equally qualified applicants, preference will be given to disabled candidates. The IKZ is an equal opportunity employer and actively supports reconciliation of work and family life. There is equality for applicants of all genders. Qualified women are especially encouraged to apply.
